Not my favorite overall batch, but there were a couple winners in there, the red (jasper w/hematite?) one turned out way better than I would have imagined. Now I know what to look for . Would you guys say the 3rd one is chert/flint?
Thanks for checking 'em out

Nice! Looks a LOT like my Lake Erie finds! I have my first batch I’m actually happy about that I took out of my lot-o today! I think it’s **technically** my third batch. But first two were rotary only. Maybe tomorrow. Today didn’t happen for photos. Thanks so much for sharing! Your photos are definitely better than my cell phone pics! Camera next? Maybe another X-mas gift??!! 🤣🤣🤣 I'm excited to see, sounds like you have some goodies to show off. Quite a few of my favorites were in my first couple batches. Maybe some of it's nostalgia, but I'd think they were meant to be found My mom randomly gifted me her digital and manual camera, she's an excellent photographer, so I feel like I need to at least make an attempt at using them. The cell phone is just tooo easy not use often lol.
As a wise billboard once stated, “If It Has A Ringtone, It’s Not A Camera.” You have some definite nice ones in that album.

Still no idea why it did that in the first place, since the quoted material is above my comment. “To err is human. To really foul things up, requires a computer.” - Paul Ehrlich

Thanks for checking 'em out Is this a Lake Michigan find? Doesn't look like chert to me. It could be a quartz / chalcedony mix. I find rocks somewhat similar in SE Michigan and that's my best guess. Although not obvious, it could also be some sort of coral fossil with a lot of sedimentary silica in the form of both quartz and chalcedony.

Maybe because it's on Flickr and not Cloudinary...?

It is called "Tommy removed the quoted pictures". At least I think that this is what you were asking. Don

LazerFlash That one is neat and very unique for what I find. Has a little Eye of Horus thing going on as well.

holajonathan I was knocked down most of the weekend or I would have replied earlier. Here is the backside of the same, I think you are right about it being some kind of sedimentary silica. You can't see it because most tumbled away, but there was more layering on the bottom than shown.
I'm finding some chert with similar color around here it's nothing spectacular but I'll tumble a few to see how it looks.

Just wanted to bump this post. Updated all the photos with outdoor lighting and true colors finally. All done with my new phone, not as many close ups, but I think they represent the rocks better Well 49/50 anyway, can't count apparently.... flic.kr/s/aHsmX64LVJ

Some beautiful stones and a great way to display them. Glad you bumped this, I hadn't checked it out before.
