Here's a re-cut I did not too long ago of a scenic rhyolite cab from the Mimbres Valley, New Mexico. It's called Mimbres Apache Rhyolite and this was one of my favorites before it was somehow damaged. It lost a bit of weight and the shape changed a little but I think I managed to save its scenic and "alien" appearance. It's a big stone: 70.7 ct. measuring 32.72 x 49 x 5.5 mm. If anyone can put me on to a source quality slabs or rough of this material I would greatly appreciate it. I will think of a suitable reward.  |

Try Kingsley North. They might have it no. Thanks toiv0 . I bought about 10 pounds of their material some time back but what I received is very low-grade. I haven't slabbed all of it but I've only been able to get a couple of so-so cabs to date. My remaining rough looks similar to the stuff I've already slabbed but as we all know, there can be surprises. |
