Roy had a small piece of BMJ faced rough on auction at full moon, so I bid on it and got it. Split with the trim saw Three preforms from it. The pictures are of the bottoms. The faces are hacked up but I expect they will grind down ok and the the pattern should be about the same,

I ground the preforms and they are dopped. The face on the one on the left is nicer than the back from the previous pictures. The face and back are about the same for the middle and the face on the right is not as nice as the back. It currently has a 9mm dome so I can take it down but don't expect much improvement and it is too much work to flatten the face and flip it.

The larger pear shape has a nick and I need to go back to 280 soft so it's still on the dop.

What is "full moon" (in the auction context, of course π)

Those turned out nice. I picked up some Blue Mountain Jasper rough recently, but I've been second guessing whether I should slab it or maybe try to tumble the medium size chunks (1-2 lbs) whole. It's got nice orbs showing, but they are pretty big. I'm afraid that I won't be able to actually capture the orbs in a cab. Looks like you had smaller orbs in your slabs -- better for cabbing.
