A local artist makes mourning jewelry for 4 legged family members who have passed. She uses fur, mane/tail hair, etc.
If wanted, includes a photo of the passed family member.
her work is beyond beautiful.

Thank you Beth that is fascinating. I knew of the black clothing custom, but the jewelry thing is new to me. Very interesting indeed. Mourning jewelry made from jet was popular for a time in Victorian England. Jet was mined just South of Hanksville, Utah by Tiffany (I think) and 1dave knows the story about the mine. |
