I thought I would post a picture of my pathetic slab collection! flic.kr/p/2mKqqvN I also have a small jade slab that I'll probably never cut up so it didn't make the picture.

Looks good. It will grow. Then one day you’ll be saying, I have a real mess on my hands.

On a side note. If you really want that slab collection to grow. Keep checking Craigslist or even estate sales (for slab saws). They are expensive, but I’ve managed to buy some great saws at cheap prices. Last slab saw I bought from Craig was a 14inch, $1400 saw. Got it for $400. Over the summer I had that thing running non stop haha.

Might have to check that one out. Is it a chromey looking stone?

It hardens up like an agate...

When I started cabbing, I had an impressive slab collection and pathetic cabbing skills. I now have a much, much larger slab collection, and respectable, but not great cabbing skills. Learn on what you've got, and worry about getting nicer stuff once you got a few more under your belt. With that said, it won't take long to get bored cabbing rocks that you don't like. For learning / practice purposes, they've got be interesting enough to motivate you, but not so nice that you'll feel bad if they don't turn out as great as you had hoped. I am speaking from personal experience, not suggesting that your cabs aren't turning out well. They look better than mine did until I had about 3X your experience. I tried really hard to make nice cabs right from the start, but when I look back at them now, it took at least 20 or 30 before I started getting really nicely shaped and even domes, which is the one indispensable element of a good cab.

Next thing you know your computer desk will look like this. This is my work computer in my barn. You can guess how much "work" I've been getting done.

When he goes through them and if he pitches any- I'll keep you in mind. He has a bunch of decent stuff.

And the little wooden cubby thing where you used to store you winter hats and gloves will look like this And the other wooden cubby thing that you used for business paperwork? Then there's the spot on the floor where you toss the ones that are fresh off the saw, or that you pulled out to look at and didn't feel like putting away.
