Christmas will soon be upon us and following in what now seems to be my tradition, I've decided once again to make (with the help of my daughter (10)) presents for teachers & caretakers. My tumblers have been silent for the past little while (I really miss the soothing sounds they emit, but their status may change soon - my problem is that I have lots of large or large broken pieces of rock but I'm missing filler stones & smaller sizes of stones - too lazy & sick lately to go out & break some up outside (which is getting so cold lately too). So this is what I've been up to. Here is a picture of the whole lot... it's made out of bright aluminum rings and colored Al rings. These are the large stars (called celtic starz) for a pendant and/or key chain The smaller size starz - for pendant, earrings, or keychains These are the rainbow bracelets going into the birthday grab bags for the girls - they're gonna see Harry Potter (HP) and the weave is fittingly called HP 3-1 Colors are off - lighting is horrible - what can I say - operator error Thanks for looking - sorry this is not rock related... wish it was

Those stars are TOO intricate. I get a headache just trying to see a pattern to copy. Congrats Tweetie for making something so interesting to look at.

Jdennis, I get my rings from two places in Canada in Saskatchewan - www.theringlord.com & www.Metaldesignz.com - not sure where to get them from the states - the ring lord has US pricing so I know that they ship to the states - you can get sawcut rings (more $ but a nicer closure) or machine cut in various types, colors & sizes. I got the celtic starz kit from metaldesignz then bought some rings to make more - It,s very addictive! Thanks guys - I really wish I had rock related stuff to show.... maybe soon..?

Well done, did you come up with the star design on your own? Tami

well done, Tweet! sorry to hear your tumblers haven't been rolling! do you have any dollar stores/equivalent near you, some places (like Walmart/Micheals/All for a Dollar) sell rounded river rock in bags for a buck or two in all sizes. before i generated enough of my own "filler" that is what i used, after a few cycles some of it turned out quite nice all by itself!
those are great bracelets and keychains! love the rainbow patterns.
hope you start feeling better soon! KD
