Hi all again. Just pulled these out of polish yesterday. An Assortment of jaspers, some pet wood, some of the rocks collected by Gaetz. There were also some pieces of some Royal blue dumorterite in this batch but they went back into polish by themselves. It is alot like sodalite and they just didn't take a shine mixed in with everything else. I'll check them in a few days. Whole batch some of Gaetz's Utah rocks-foreground some purple sunset jasper and a blue agate from Gaetz pet wood jaspers/agates taken indoors under a "Natural Light" Thanks for looking. Ed

Ed- Wow you really got some good shine on those guys. I'd really like to know how you did them. Will you post your recipe on this thread or PM me. I've had my own batch going for 2 weeks and would llike to see how you did yours. Did you take any before picts? Great job and a great shine. Thanks for posting those picts. Gaetz

Great lookin' rocks. That shine is superior. I'm with everyone else. How'd you do it, and in what kind of tumbler?

Hi all. Thanks for the comments. Alot of these stones kept breaking or in the case of the Utah rocks, they would wear down and start to round out, and then a pocket of some soft material would pop thru. I think Cookie had the same problem. So they took a long time in coarse, some up to 5 weeks. I recharged every 5 days or so and pulled out the good ones. They ran in 120/220 for 5 days, 6 days in 600, 5 days in 1000 and 5 days in Tin oxide polish. No borax tumble washes. There is still the Dumortieite that went back into polish and I hope that will shine up cuz it is some nice looking stone.

Ed-
Sounds like you had to work that jasper pretty hard to get to come out that good, huh? Well, thanks for the input because I hope to get some good ones out of my batch too.

Wonderful job, shine can't be beat! I'm surprised you got such a top notch shine without any wash stages... those stones must have had every last grit-holding imperfection ground out in coarse grind!
