flic.kr/p/2mMmrAB I just finished taking jasoninsd's advice and cabbed! I swear this thing was pure hematite. It stained everything orange but I finished it! New shape to me so suggestions are definitely welcome. Thanks for looking!

Go bigger, and it’s a bit easier. Also, don’t worry about traditional doming. Just think about it as if it were really two crossed pieces of wood. You wouldn’t dome those. Just round the edges.  Mahogany obsidian cross by sdttds, on Flickr |

Nice going perkins17 ! You've only been doing this (lapidary) for five or six months and look at what you've accomplished! Way to go! stephan , nice looking cross. |
