Those are some beautiful pieces of wood! I love how pet wood can look just like a piece of wood, but other pieces have fantastic colors running through them. The green wood is one of my favorites.

victor1941Nice photos and very nice pet wood! I had asked you if you could post close ups of your pet wood. Thank you for doing so. The first photo looks just like sun-bleached (real) wood. The grain is incredible. The second to last photo is very interesting. Is that one from Texas also? Do you know anything else about it? It would make some amazing cabs.

Halajonathan, this piece of wood is probably from NM or Texas. This piece has characteristics of wood from the Aleman Ranch in NM that have color but the surface shows great grain whereas the Aleman wood was tumbled. My best guess is a purchase from a large rock shop in Las Cruces, NM. The wood that has the color is mostly from the Aleman Ranch and is stored in the shed while the deck is cleaned, repaired and painted. I'll take some pictures in the spring showing the internal color and pattern.
