Beautiful cabs Jonathan!
You're really getting some gorgeous cabs out of that Amethyst Sage! Of course the Biggs is absolutely rockin'!

That Biggs is so dramatic and fun to look at!
I haven't heard of Mexican Cactus Lace before or Amethyst Sage either, I learn something new at RTH every day.

Fantastic cabs holajonathan. Your photography is excellent too. Thanks for showing. They’re all great but I really like the Biggs junction jasper.

Thanks for the show — my favorite is #2: it looks otherworldly, like some moon orbiting the darker planet to the left of center. Your cab's shape is a great choice.

I appreciate your close look at that one. That was my thought when I marked that preform as well -- something like an alien planet landscape scene with a moon on the horizon.

Thanks for all the samples of each!
That Amethyst Sage is something else. Very complex material. How stable is it over all?
Thanks again for sharing the pics!

Thanks for all the samples of each! That Amethyst Sage is something else. Very complex material. How stable is it over all? Thanks again for sharing the pics! It's pretty stable overall. There are some fractures in some piece of rough, but usually not too hard to work around. The bright white spots are usually extremely soft, like chalk, so you have to avoid those spots a well. Only the first slab in my photo has some of this chalky white stuff. Higher grade rough is an overall solid material, but there is a lot of marginal quality Amethyst Sage on the market as well. The marginal stuff isn't so much unstable, it's just boring, as in no good purple or good dendrites. Stated differently, no Amethyst or "sage." I bought a big box of that stuff, unfortunately, before finding a source for quality rough.
