Here's some wraps I finished up today. I started working on them last night. I had to knock the cobwebs out of my brain and try and remember how it's done! LOL Pics 1-2 are going to California. Pics 3-4 are going to Wisconsin. Pic 5 is for my wife's (our) granddaughter for X-Mas. Pic 6 is for my stepdaughter. It's an Olympic Poppy Jasper she found on vacation. She does t know I cabbed it and wrapped it. She gave it to me so I could tumble it. Also an X-Mas present.

Those are really nice Jason. Looks like you got those cobwebs cleaned out in a hurry, you didn't miss a beat. Curious as to what kind of wire you used on these. BTW, it is good to see you wrapping again, yours are always great.

BTW, it is good to see you wrapping again, yours are always great. Thanks Don! That means a lot. I used copper wire, but I put them through a Liver of Sulphur bath to oxidize them and give them the patina. The last one is sliver filled wire...no stinky bath. LOL Doesn't look like you missed a beat! Loving these Thank you so much! I've been cabbing again this evening, but each time I finish one now, I'm picturing how it'll get wrapped. LOL Rapid City rock and wrap artist. Nice work sir. Thanks Lunk! If I would've known I was supposed to be "artsy" I would've done the artsy finger snaps at my granddaughters band concert the other night...instead of clapping like there was a touchdown in the Superbowl! LOL

It's like riding a bike... You did a killer job on these and I'm sure they will be treasured gifts.
I'm still plucking away at my gifts. Almost there.

Beautiful job on all of them, Jason! The third one and the poppy are my favorites out of this bunch.

I am surprised to see you could leave the new toy alone long enough to get some actual "work" done. My favorites are the ones going to Wisconsin, I might be a bit biased tho... Does your stepdaughter know you make jewelry? I imagine she is going to be very surprised and feel very special either way.

Very impressive wraps and excellent stones for the "art" part.

These are really pretty!
This is definitely something I can see myself wanting to learn in the future. Right now I am focused on perfecting tumbling and cabbing, though my lapidary teacher probably knows how to wrap too, maybe I can get some help!

Nice wraps. The patina adds a special touch. Thanks Beth! I love the Liver of Sulphur effect on these. I think it really does make them look like they're "antique-y"! Thank you very much! This time, they didn't feel like "work" though...well...almost! LOL It's like riding a bike... You did a killer job on these and I'm sure they will be treasured gifts.

Thanks Tela! Wait...I don't remember ever pedaling while wrapping! LOL I can't wait to see the rest of your gifts! Awesome framing on those lovely stones Jason, your skill working with these is impressive. Thanks LL! I had a couple requests for not too much "bling"...so I kept them as toned down as I could muster! LOL Beautiful job on all of them, Jason! The third one and the poppy are my favorites out of this bunch. Thanks Robin! Yeah...my favorite out of the bunch (for the way it looks) is that third one. I'm pretty stoked to see the reactions of my stepdaughter and granddaughter. As soon as I saw the title, I knew what you were posting. Great wraps my friend, glad to see you back at it! Thanks my friend! I really was knocking off cobwebs...and caught myself once thinking, "Oh yeah...that's how it goes!" LOL I am surprised to see you could leave the new toy alone long enough to get some actual "work" done. My favorites are the ones going to Wisconsin, I might be a bit biased tho... Does your stepdaughter know you make jewelry? I imagine she is going to be very surprised and feel very special either way. I know...if I hadn't had someone pushing me to get their stuff done (which will be mailed tomorrow by they way...I knew there was something I was forgetting this morning!), then I could have been cabbing all day! LOL You are more than expected to have a bias on these! LOL - And I think Sarah's getting the best of the bunch! She does know I make jewelry...but I don't think she's expecting anything...especially the stone she found. Very impressive wraps and excellent stones for the "art" part. Thank you so much Victor! These are really pretty! This is definitely something I can see myself wanting to learn in the future. Right now I am focused on perfecting tumbling and cabbing, though my lapidary teacher probably knows how to wrap too, maybe I can get some help! Thank you Cade! When I first started all this, I had NO intention of wire-wrapping...nor any real interest in it...until I kept seeing all the posts from people wrapping their own cabs. Of course miket pretty much goaded me into getting started...and I'm glad he did. I'll be curious to hear whether your teacher does know how to wrap. Did I mention I'm jealous that you have a teacher like that!?!

Did I mention I'm jealous that you have a teacher like that!?! The reason I think he does know how is because he talked about all the jewelry he made for his wife (who sadly died three years ago). Then he asked me if I had done any silversmithing. I'm sure I will be like you and give it a go and realize I like it!

First is way cool. I see a nature scene in it. A stream running rapid through rocks/ can also be snow, brown bird on a branch of tree with a moss covered top and dried grass on both sides.

Thanks Bry! I love it when people can see their own things in rocks. I see a hockey player, baseball player up to bat, or a golfer midswing - basically a sports figure there in the green areas.
