Hey guys, Today I went to Haunted Ridge. It is a pay to dig site in Washington County, MO. There was Missouri lace agate EVERYWHERE, some with hematite. Most with quartz. Small, big and HUGE boulder size pieces. We came away with 2 5 gallon buckets and two large (50-100 lb) rocks. That was the main thing that was there although there was some jasper as well. We were brought to the site on an ATV.
Here are just a few photos of the site and some of the rocks I was rinsing off at home. About half are sitting in Iron-Out now. I will try to show some more after I clean them up a bit. It was super fun, highly recommend!

and do you know the back story of how the ridge got haunted? I asked and apparently some time ago a family that lived there was killed in their home by robbers.

Thanks for posting those agates! I've found similar stuff in riverbeds about an hour or so south of there, and never have known what to call them.

Looks like you found some nice ones. That first picture looks like an ice ball with lichen.

Cade, I've opened this thread a couple times since yesterday and got distracted before I responded...squirrel! LOL
It sounds (and looks) like you had a great haul out of there! These kind of remind me of Summerville Agates (Georgia)...

Here's a cab I made from the Summerville Agate...I think both the Missouri Lace and the Summerville are gorgeous materials. If the Missouri Lace really is similar to Summerville, it's a "softer" rock...

Cade, those are gorgeous pieces that you cleaned. To answer you question, I don't know if there is another way to clean them, or if they need another Iron Out bath, but I think they look really awesome like that.

Worst case is you do another soak and see if it gets better. If not, no harm, no foul.
