Here's my new hobby. Just picked this up today. Needs some TLC. Runs great, and most work will be cosmetic. Will need to rebuild the motor at some point and the rear end. Upgrade the breaks to disc as well. But should be a slick ride when done.
Reminds me of a '67 model I had. Pretty cool.
one year off. This is 66. It’s not fully original. So thinking about stripping the shell and converting it into a fastback and just making a custom ride out of it.
Fun thread! I really enjoy hearing about everything other people do. It sounds like really nice lives being lived. rockfrog I love the crochet. That whale is gorgeous. And the little guinea pig, adorable.😊 rockbrain That last guitar is awesome. Yours are as well… I just love retro Formica.🤓 I’m impressed and entertained seeing any work that someone does well, even if it’s no where near any of my interests or abilities. I could watch a kid skateboard for hours, if he’s good. Never done it, there’s just something about watching a real talent. We have a number of guitars around here as my spouse plays. He does maintenance and if he ever got into refurbishing or building them I could see myself easily getting into that as well. I just appreciate good craftsmanship, trying to achieve it myself, and attention to detail, no matter the task. realrockhound We’ve definitely grown into an appreciation for older cars lately. The new ones are too computerized to work on yourself if ever in a bind. It actually seems kind of risky to us to be so reliant on a machine that we don’t have the basic skills to repair. The cars we drive are an 00 and 01. Never really considered them old but now when we take them into any shop we do get comments about their age, and even offers to buy them. We’ll keep them running as long as possible. Do you watch Vice Grip Garage on YouTube?
I have more hobbies and interests than I have time for! I joke that I was born to be retired. I seriously do not get these retired people who are bored and just watch tv all day. The hobbies I’ve played with over the years are quilting (mostly baby blankets, no time yet for large projects), crocheting (blankets/afghans), woodworking (just building cute shelves and refurbishing furniture), metal-smithing (silver and copper), cabbing, wire wrapping (still learning), enameling (very little time, just learning), soap making (mostly as an activity with my mom), finding and refurbishing old rock equipment (so far done a two barrel rock tumbler, trim saw -hired that one out, and a drop saw -almost done), landscaping and propagating (planting trees and flowering shrubs and I collect rhododendrons), years ago I did the giant pumpkin growing thing (got to about 400 lbs), also did a little blacksmithing back then (just playing around and classes but seriously considered setting up my own), cast iron Dutch oven campfire cooking (our landscaping is incorporating a trail to a viewpoint that will have a fire cooking area), banjo (didn’t get very far but it’s still on my to do list), online selling (just used home items and also practice/learning for running a shop), home improvements (every project becomes a little mini refurbishment hobby, something new to learn, flooring, plumbing, etc), one-off seasonal or single inspiration projects (like Christmas ornaments, coasters, my Dop clock). I’ve started looking into resin (to make retro rock tables and jewelry) but haven’t had time to get anywhere with it. Pretty much if it involves working with my hands and building/creating/craftsmanship I’m all for trying it. I definitely hop around a lot.🤓 Years ago I also sculled and rowed crew which was an absolute blast and such a beautiful way to start the day, rowing into the sunrise with the eagles and river otters, but unfortunately it takes a lot of energy and my days became nothing but rowing, work, sleep, and repeat. I also ran some but once I got to higher mileage my body said nope. I was also wanting to trail run and unfortunately it’s too far of a drive to realistically get to trails, and then work on time. See what I mean about needing to be retired!? Hiking or at least traipsing around in the woods, along a river, or on the beach are always welcome outings. Mostly lately because we are pressed for time, I try to be efficient, and get my exercise and outdoor time working on our landscape. It’s fun to admire the results of hard work.🤓
For me, I'm also into: 1. Video Games 2. TV with the wife 3. Motorcycling (V-Strom 650 and a Grom) 4. Backpacking/hiking 5. Smart home/IoT/software 6. Tinkering with and fixing stuff around the house

It appears that I have a new hobby. I love elephants. So, naturally- everyone in the family is getting in on it. I have elephants galore. My BIL is a gifted artist, I'm getting him to do a charcoal of an elephant for me. I also collect boxes, so I have 2 new elephant boxes now.

My first car was a 64 Mustang. Wish I still had it. I have a 47 CJ2A jeep that needs tons of TLC just afraid where to start. Motor first then do the body. Everyone just keep take that next step and keep moving. This time of year I have problems getting motivated to go walk even just a little ways. The garden goodies have been a blessing this winter all good stuff and really helps the food bill. Already have the seeds ordered and here at the house. Planning what to plant is always on going. Had some nice warm weather and finally snow melting. Makes it hard not to go out start garden working. Now the snow is coming back with cold temps. So that stops the garden work.

Nice bike. I ride an SV1000S. Got almost 90,000 miles on it 😎
Cool! You're gonna love it. It's fun and challenging. Can't wait to see the pictures. I'd offer help and advice, but since I learned on boro, I suck at soft glass. They are radically different.
I can't wait to try. I've watched so many videos . And I'll take any advice I can get
So I still haven't done anything with the glass
Decided to put the bees on hold.
This year we are starting our chickens. My hobby, more than Nate's. He has been a godsend in building me what I need.

These are bottles of produce being extractafied, left to right should be blackberries, cayenne pepper, blueberries, and a mix of strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries. The blackberries, which may be Dewberries, and the cayennes came out of my garden, the blueberries and mixed berries came from a fruit medley served in a box lunch at my work. All of them are in vodka since that is what you are supposed to make extracts with apparently. No idea what I am going to do with them, maybe make a sweet hot sauce.
