These agates have always been among my favorites too. Have been saving these parallel cuts for a special project sometime. Problem is, every time I sit down to cab I find something else to do before I get to these. Cutting rocks takes so dern much time even on diamond wheels! Enjoy....Mel

how big are those, Sabre? it IS hard to know what to do with such great pieces because they are so spectacular just like they are.
if you DO end up making those into cabs, please remember to post the photos....

KD: Shoot, I always forget about scale! Those both measure about 1" by 2". Got lucky at Quartzite several years ago and got about 30# of this agate and every one I've cut has been great. Really hard to vise up though as some are very round. Sure enjoy working this material but every time I finish a piece someone sees it and I wind up giving it away....Mel

Every one of those that I cut is like opening a Christmas present, there's a surprize in each one and you don't know what until you open it. Very nice rock!!

Well, I think between you and Hammer, we're probably all going online to see how we can score some of our own.
Those are great. You slab them yourself don't you?
thanks again,
Gaetz

Gaetz: Yep, I do my own slabbing when I can. I've been working on a collection of parallel slab sets for matching or almost matching cabs. If I have time tomorrow, I'll post a few pics of some of Latin American pairs.....Mel

Joe-
Ya, you hit it right on the head. I've been diaper free for over 4 years so dumping money on diapies is really gonna bite. LOL Hey, but wait, maybe he'll grow up to be rich a famous and he'll buy me all the agates I can tumble!!!!

Mel, You honestly have some of the nicest-looking material on the board. You must have quite a collection. Those Botswanas are beautiful....and there's not many whole nodules on e-bay, I just checked! Gaetz....don't forget the Formula! Diapers and Formula.......believe me, you've got lots of friends that will help out in the RFD&P, (rock funding and donation program) This is for all rockounders that fall under the category of having to buy diapers, formula and baby necessities! Dang-It! I'm excluded once again....... Steve

"maybe he'll grow up to be rich a famous and he'll buy me all the agates I can tumble!!!!" Compromise Gaetz, maybe he'll mow some lawns and buy you a tie. Just kidding. You're gonna have to train him right to get agates. I think a baby mobile (is that what they call those multi armed things that people put over cribs?) made of sliced agate should be a good start. joe Steve- I'm with you. What the heck is formula??

Joe, Formula is that powdery stuff that costs 10 bucks that babies drinkand then spit-up. Who knows, maybe Gaetz can use it as a Polish as well....it just might work. Steve

Steve, how long has it been since you had to buy formula? The stuff my son has been buying for his baby was $23.00 for one of those round containers. Thank goodness the little guy is on milk now.

$23.00!!!! Maybe Gaetz can use AO as baby food? It's a lot cheaper!
