KD sent me a box ... I love the note that was in there and it's so true, some of this has even crossed the pond. Check out that black piece, it's like obsidian. There was a lot more here but it's rollin' rollin' rollin' .... Today after I finished recharging/reloading my barrels, there's a knock at the door. Maillady hollers "I have a box for you. Can you guess what it is?" I seriously had no idea, I wasn't expecting rocks from anyone, I wasn't expecting anything but sure was tickled to find this. More pet wood and pretty rocks from Steve. Once again, I am totally awed by the generousity of this board. Thank you both so very very much. Ok, I have to go now, got something in my eye.

Hi, What's that black piece in the bottom, center of the first pic? Is it obsidian?
I have something similar I found in my yard and someone called it lava glass. I'm trying to figure out if it is something I can chip up and tumble...
No saw, YET....

The black piece in the top pic is a piece of Eden Valley pet wood, at least I think that's what KD called it. If they called it lava glass, they must have been referring to obsidian since it comes from volcanos. If you're going to chip it up, be extremely careful. Obsidian breaks off in very sharp shards, sharper than razor blades. Also be sure you cover it as little pieces can fly and stick in your skin. Safety glass are a must.
