I'm glad you were able to get out in the garage and do some cabbing today without losing any digits to frostbite! I think this is your best picture yet: The MMA is a little fuzzy in the pics...but the shape looks pretty good!

I have a 6 inch diamond wheel on 8 inch hoods so I get pretty wet when I grind on that. I was SUPER happy with that picture! My light tent really works! The Mma was hard to photograph for some reason. Maybe I should've done a different background.

I could be wrong, but I think your camera was picking up on the texture of the background on that MMA. That seems to be what's in focus. Way to go with a dark background though since it's a light colored rock! Is there any way to redneck engineer a temporary splashguard on the hood, so it controls the spray a little better? I don't know what you have on hand that you might be able to use...but take a look at some of the cabbing machines out there and try and replicate something to redirect the spray downward, rather than outward. Duct tape is your friend!

Duct tape is your friend! I didn't have the space heaters going. I didn't want to forget about then and burn the house down! (That would be a high possibility.) I do have a splash guard made out of vinyl but I still get way more wet than I would with the expando drum. I had duct tape at first but it didn't really work. I agree the Mma pictures focused on the background. It's kinda like photographing glass 😁!

Both of those stones are pretty, but the Crazy Lace is my favorite! Great job on those, especially when you're freezing!
Here's a suggestion for you on your photos: If you crop all the background off around your cabs, it will automatically enlarge your stones and we'll be able to see the pretty patterns in them better.
