That is absolutely gorgeous. Maybe it's just the light, but it's glowing.

You know...when you see my name come up in an "ID Requested" thread...chances are I'm not helping with the ID...I'm just describing how much drool I'm cleaning off my keyboard! LOL Chad nailed it...it's amazing the vibrancy of the colors in this material!

LOL Chad nailed it...it's amazing the vibrancy of the colors in this material! I can normally identify 99% of material. Especially if it’s Oregon material. This…. It’s driving me mad. Can’t find anything online. The plumes next to the green remind me of wingate. But I know it’s not that material.

I think it's fascinating there's three distinct "sectors" to this material which are in a linear pattern. The green area is one, then the smaller yellow "moss" area where the yellow is a lot brighter is the second, and then the area on the bottom left which bleeds the bright yellow into that golden toned section is the third section.

Material is pretty wild to say the least.

Could it be a really nice sample of Colorado onyx?

That is beautiful.
There was some slabs that I saw a while ago from an old collector in California that he said was out of Del Norte. Your slab reminds me of this. Might be a good place to start your research

I spent over a couple of hours last night doing searches trying to find something that looked like that. Epic fail. Glad MsAli had a suggestion for you cuz I gave up.

Del Norte was the closest I got as well. He had it with some other slabs labeled Colorado rose. I found that material online. I’m assuming the material is out of Colorado at this point, but that’s as far as I’ve gotten.

I’m thinking it might be flower garden agate. I’ve found some pieces online that look extremely similar in color and pattern. Im thinking he might have mistakenly labeled it wrong when he was storing things away. I still find it unlikely as he knew his rocks, but i suppose anything is possible.

Just looked at 20 or 30 photos of flower garden agate. That looks like a good match. Colors and texture are very close. I do not know the history of the material but if the time lines match up you may have a name. Thanks again for posting it.

I'm tagging socalagatehound. Maybe he might know. He's cut a ton of those Texas agates.
