First time forum user

Hello from Michigan’s mid-thumb area. I’m in my mid thirties and I’ve been collecting rocks(few fossils) my whole life; which have just ended up in various baskets around my parents’ home, and now my home. My wife and I realized a few years ago that rockhounding was a common minor interest of ours. We’ve indulged in that minor interest to the point that it’s become one of our biggest common theme hobbies. My wife purchased me a rock tumbler for Christmas last year(2020), and although I cycled through a batch of rocks, the outcome was less than satisfactory, so I let the tumbler sit there unused for several months. After this last summer’s vacations and rock finds, I’ve had a renewed vigor in rock tumbling and it’s been going steadily for a month now(after doing further research to improve the results). I’ve been watching Rob’s channel(MichiganRocks) on YouTube with dedication for about a year now, and I’ve learned a lot from him. I stumbled onto some posts/comments of his on this forum and here we are. This is the first forum I’ve ever joined and I’m looking forward to the interactions and learning that can come from like minded people.
