I was out rockhunting again last weekend, and I found a suprisingly nice piece of material! The purple is actually darker than the pic shows. I am hoping to stumble on some more over Thanksgiving Holiday. I had to post it, because it really was a happy experience! Whach'a all think? Steve

I think that's some seriously great jasper, and you should collect as much of it as you can!!!

That is some pretty stuff! Did you have to travel very far to find it?

Now THAT'S what i'm talking about! Whenever I see that stuff on a beach here I GRAB it!! I hardly ever see large rough chunks of it though.
I will have some pics to post very soon as well. I've got three things lined up for final polishing & the first batch is coming out of T.O. in a couple days.

That is so pretty, it's really amazing. Sure hope you have some luck in finding more of it. Are the purple areas quartz like? That's a great find Steve ... go hunt young man, go hunt!!

Hey Steve, how is that material for fracture, does it look like it could be slabbed and cabbed?? Or would it be best tumbled? I've got some simillar jasper, but it has areas that are agatized into red carnellian. I'd love to see those in person, PM me and let me know what your schedule is for Thanksgiving weekend, maybe we can get together then.

Thnaks everyone, The material is really solid, and it would tumble or cab really well! I don't know how to cab, so it will probably go into the tumbler. I probably will hold off before I break it up for the tumbler...I'd like to find more first. I'd rather have it cabbed, so for now it will remain the way it is. I'm planning on going back up over Thanksgiving...I'll keep ya'll posted! Steve

Superb looking material you have there. It reminds me of some of the California material we have here. Hard to find!

Great lookin' jasper. It almost looks like Arizona petrified wood. Show us pics of it when it's done tumbling.
