You all know I can''t take a pic so here is a scan of the latest batch- This is a bit diff for a recipe as they ran in rough a lot longer: 60/90- 2 to 6 weeks (recharged every 2 weeks) 120/220 2 weeks 500 2 weeks Tripoli- 2 weeks Polsh (AO) 1 week Borax burnish- 24 hours Enjoy

And it looks like you got an awesome shine on it too. What a cool batch, so colorful and dang that pet would is awesome. I'm liking that more and more each time I see it. I've got some in the tumbler now, hope it turns out as nice as yours.

They look great. I love mixed batches, because you never know what you are going to wind up with. Kind of like a "box of chocolates". Tami

Dang, those came out nice! Just a little hint; I think you could have shaved off 2 weeks of tumbling if you just skipped the Tripoli. By letting the 500 go for 2 weeks, it would have broke down to about 1000 or so. In fact, you could have just left them in 120/220 for 1 month and achieved the same result. Just an observation... Great batch!

Great batch, you definitely got them shiny! I bet that took a little while to line all up on the scanner What type of rock is the ones almost at the very bottom, in the center? They look blackish with tan, seems to be around 5 or 7 pieces. Looks vaguely familiar, but I'm not sure.

Nice batch there, Stephan, and we can actually SEE them this time! I'm kind of partial to that small clear agate on the very bottom, that looks like it has grains of pepper inside it.

Thank you all- James- Interesting idea- I am soo hooked on tripoli but the 500F concept is interesting- I may have to try it- (but of course then my 5 barrel 5 step program gets tossed out the window) Sorry all fro no labels- So I will try to get all the questionable ones answered for ya- The Botswanna looking one is actually a chip off a Laker (it musta been beautiful!) the black and tan rock is Opalized Pet wood (arkies stuff!) the spotted clear agat is Fossil Agate from Banjo (this stuff is a bugger as it ran in course for 8 weeks!) THe Big white rock is a chunk of Marble (it was MUCH larger when I started) there is also some Jasper under the petwood and a couple of Carniela(sp) in the second row. There is a sweetwater agate next to the turitella and somewhere in there ther is some Moss agate, some chert, and a chunk of busted up geode. Oh and a few fire Agate (no fire)
