Hello everyone, I’m brand new to rock tumbling. I just started my first run. I live in an apartment, so I don’t have a place like a basement or shed. I had to set my Tumbler up to run in the same bathroom where I keep my cats litter box and will do my bucket washes and such there. My concern is, how worried do I have to be about trace amounts of these silicon carbide or aluminum oxide girt particles getting into the air and being a risk to my cat? I see that there is a risk of lung cancer with long-term exposure, but it’s not clear how little or much that means for an animal. I’m not even sure if it’s going to be somehow leaking out of the Tumbler, even though it’s all sealed. Can anyone confirm the safety of this stuff? Or have any tips for how to do this in an apartment? Thanks!

I tumble in a two bedroom apt with two cats.
I seal the door to one room with tumblers because they will definitely mess things up somehow
As far as traces from the tumbler...I'd be more concerned with your lungs and the litter boxes lol.
I have 100% confidence you or your cats aren't getting cancer or side effects from tumbling.
Just don't drink slurry, that would be bad.

The more they over-think the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the toilet.

I'm surprised that I haven't seen that on any of the containers or the instructions that came with grit or my tumbler.

Hello everyone, I’m brand new to rock tumbling. I just started my first run.
Welcome from Charles Town WV. (Think John Brown's pre-Civil War raid.) I'm new to the tumbling aspect of this hobby, and have learned a LOT from this forum.
