I recently had a conversation with several family members about our individual "top five" movies of all time and the new member thread by bladerunner got me thinking about it again. Just for fun and education, please create a list of your top five favorite movies of all time. If you can't think of all five at once then list as many as you can then come back later and edit your post to complete a list of five. I expect there will be a lot of editing because someone will post a movie that we forgot about. After a period of time (a couple of months?) I will go through and consolidate a poll based on the most popular answers and we'll vote on the best of the best. I will start off with my list - these are off the top of my head and subject to editing as I see all the other entries coming in. 1. Blade Runner 2. The Game 3. Unforgiven 4. Good Will Hunting 5. Shawshank Redemption The only rules are please keep it to five (or less) of your top favorites that you would watch over and over. Please make your "official" list consolidated in one post (they don't have to be sorted 1-5 in favorite order) so that it's not a nightmare later to pick through posts looking for changes or additions. After making your list, commenting on your own picks and others picks is highly encouraged. Just as a memory primer here is a "movies favories" thread we had going in 2019 but it was not quite as challenging folks to think of their favorite of the favorite, and so I thought it would be fun to do something a bit different.

It would be a lot easier with my top 10 or 20, but I have narrowed down to 5 with some tough eliminations;
1) Schindler's List 2) Citizen Kane 3) The Third Man 4) The Searchers 5) The Wizard of Oz
The next 6 I had to leave off;
The Godfather Forest Gump Casablanca Sunset Boulevard The Lord of the Rings(the whole trilogy) One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest

Have 100's of DVDs here at home and so many great ones out there that I don't have. It's hard to pick just five, and I know I've missed many, but here's a partial listing in no particular order.
The Godfather, Gone With The Wind, The Birds & Northwest Passage (Alfred Hitchcock), Snow White & Dumbo (Disney), The Wizard of OZ, ET, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, The Sting, Psycho, Grapes of Wrath, Goodfellas, Avatar, Ben-Hur

I could have gone "Cult"
Escape From New York (one of the coolest names in movies - Snake Plissken!) Big Trouble in Little China (hey! nothing wrong with two Kirk Russel movies) Monty Python and the Holy Grail ("just a flesh wound") The Big Lebowski (way too many good quotes) Bubba Ho-Tep (watched this one several times - very underrated)

Likely subject to change at a moments notice and in no order:
-The Blues Brothers -Shawshank Redemption -Planes, Trains and Automobiles -The Untouchables -Father of the Bride
List could very well be different tomorrow. Upon thinking about it a bit, four of my selections were chosen for somewhat sentimental reasons.

I have never heard anyone speak of Bubba Ho-Tep before. One of my buddies and I are big Bruce Campbell fans and saw that one at a special screening with the man himself. He held a Q&A at the end of it. He’s still one of my favorite B-list actors ever. I’m going to start my list and maybe finish it up later. 1. Rear Window (the original Hitchcock version) 2. Gladiator 3. 4. 5. Possibilities: Blues Brothers/Animal House, The Sting, Toy Story 1 or 3 (and pretty much any Pixar movie for that matter), sci-fi options The Matrix or The Fifth Element
