WoW how neat. I've only ever seen a wild turkey one time and that was in Mississippi. We don't have them up here in the northern part of Minnesota. They do have them down south though. Thanks for sharing KD, that must be really neat to see them in the back yard.

There is actually a wild turkey festival here in North GA. I left my house one day to go to work and had to follow a turkey (with a "Hey, I was here first" additude) for about 1/2 a mile. Great pics and I'm sure THEY are counting thier blessing today. Thanks!

Great KD! They knew they were safe near you. You could only eat one bird... right? Cookie it sounds like that turkey needed "grillin". joe

I went to a "Wild Turkey" festival once and was hung over for 2 days. Makes me shiver just thinking about it.
Nice shot KD.

yup, they are wild turkeys, my animated lawn ornaments. they make weird noises when they walk by the house and they are spectacular to watch as they launch themselves into the trees at night to roost. they are big birds, probably15-25 pounds each (depending on age).
they've made a come back in this area over the years.

Hey KD, gotta love those turkeys! I've got lots around here too. When I'm out in the gravel pits, I can here them clucking around me. I let my springer run through the woods and I always get a kick out of watching her put up the turkeys. Her eyes get soooo big when she birds that big to chase.
