I noticed last night that my tools had been sinfully neglected. My favorite pliers had a groove dug into it where I never oiled them!!! AND, there was rust around it. Yeah, They sorely needed some attention. I cleaned them up, oiled them, check for rough spots to sand and generally gave them the once over and some TLC. Tools are my friends and I was a bad friend. Didn't even take that long to do it. No excuse. SMH. Bad Tela. Thankfully, my favorite pair weren't ruined. I use the same 3 pliers on every wrap, so they get a lot of abuse.

How do you clean them, and what kind of oil do you use? Good idea!

How do you clean them, and what kind of oil do you use? Good idea! I clean the handles with a cleaning wipe and clean the metal with oil. I got some synthetic oil to try and I like it, but you can use an oil like 3 in 1. Oil is a pretty good solvent for the gunk on the metal.

The tip is tiny!
These are great for just about everything. I probably use these the most. My current pair is about 10 years old and still kicking. Proof that you don't have to spend a lot.
And, these... They are also a great all purpose pair of pliers. I love Swanstrom. They have come down a little in quality since my first pair, but they are still very good.
(I use Amazon Smile as my Amazon account. Proceeds go to Gary Sinese. You don't have to do that. you can get them on regular Amazon.)

When I was at Rio, I noticed they have a new (to me) pair of Swanstrom micro flat nose. Had to get them. I'm a pliers addict. I have so many and use them all, too. I have 15 pair, not counting cutters, and they all have a use or two.

If at all possible I try to buy what I need/want based on if it'll qualify for a donation. It's usually pretty easy, rarely do I have to look hard to find something that qualifies.

BTW I forgot to include my bailing pliers so add 3 more.
