I think my picture taking went back a step, but here they are. Neither of these look to be in focus and the light is murder on the wires. Although, they do look better on my laptop. Oh well, I'll have to wrap some more and work on more pictures.
Yerington, NV turquoise in silver with a patina.
Copper complex chrysocolla in copper. I believe it was vegasjames who coined the phrase that we are all now using-- copper complex. I like it, as it better describes the stone. The light on the wires really bugs me. It makes the curls look off, which they are not. But, you get the idea.

Nice stones! Copper materials are some of my favorites to see cabbed. The wraps look clean too!

Beautiful wraps! Love the stones. Copper complex anything rules in my book. I think the pattern in the background material takes away from the wraps and it may be bouncing some of light around maybe.

I looked at some other pictures I did and it seems white works much better for some reason. I dunno- still learning. But, yeah, I think the texture is too rough.

18% gray card as a background. The colors are really good and focus is better.
Well, after uploading them, they don't look much better. They looked really good on my laptop. Hmmm... Never had trouble with Cloudinary before.

The wraps and cabs look great!
Based on the strong shadows of the wires, you may want to try to move the lights a little farther away or simply put a sheet of white paper or tissue between the lights and the subject. That would help diffuse the light and soften the shadows.

I was kinda liking the shadows. Something I never had in with the light tent. I will play some more with the light positioning. This time the light was coming more from the sides.

I think the second pictures are WAY better than the first pictures. The second pictures are great! The wraps...I love how "clean" the lines are. There isn't a single unintentional bend in the wire at all. And of course, the designs are stellar! I wrapped a couple the other day and used four wires. I really like the effect that causes...almost like a bezel of sorts. Out of curiosity, why did you choose to have the two wires to the right (as we're looking at it) on the bail on that first one, rather than having the three spread out equally like the second wrap? Or, am I seeing things incorrectly? ETA: Seeing your copper complex pieces drive me crazy - because yours looks so amazing! I have some copper complex that is giving me all kinds of fits with undercutting badly. It would be off the charts if I can ever get it figured out.

Sorry. I'd answer you, but I'm not sure what you mean.
A lot of copper complex stones will undercut or worse yet- break for no damn good reason. Some is good as gold, though- not as much, I must say. I just got lucky with this. I think I got three cabs from it.
ETA I think what you are talking about is that the first one has a bail with 2 wires and you are just seeing the back of one side from the front. An illusion. Is that it?

They look fabulous on my laptop! Much better. OK Good. I tell ya. I had the light tent DOWN. The new system is turning out to be a whole different thing. What do you think of the shadow? I like it.

I could take or leave the shadow, honestly. It doesn't bother me in the least and it's not interfering with the picture at all.

LOL - Yep. Total illusion! I looked at that numerous times trying to figure out why you had "pushed" the two wires to the right side. LOL - I should have taken a nap today!

Honestly, the way I use lights now, I don't think I can get away without a shadow.

I was trying to remember if I got that from you, but I don't think I did. I had some similar, though.

Thanks! I like the stone a lot and the wrap is something new for me, so I'm glad it turned out alright.
