I was trying to remember if I got that from you, but I don't think I did. I had some similar, though. No. that looks like most likely Arizona material. The stuff I mine will have mainly rosasite, azurite, malachite and bromargyrite (silver bromide) from the one mine and dioptase, malachite, azurite and cuprite from the other mine. Here are examples of what I mined:

Thank you. I love the copper-silver ores due to the wide variety of colors and patterns. Although my main kick right now are common opals, which I love for the same reason.

I really like rosaite and dioptase. I cabbed some of the rough from you and was amazed at all the colors. Such a beautiful complex.

Here are a couple more examples of some interesting slabs from the copper mines. Have no cabbed these yet. Will probably use the first ones for knife scales.
And these are cabs from the mine with the dioptase:
Light really washed this one out, but it is really beautiful in person:

Beautiful stuff vegasjames. Those first slabs are stinkin' awesome. If you make knife scales out of them, please post pictures. They will be amazing.

Beautiful stuff vegasjames . Those first slabs are stinkin' awesome. If you make knife scales out of them, please post pictures. They will be amazing. May be a while. Have not had time to work on scales lately. Maybe this summer when things slow down. My mom chose those for what she wanted for her knife scales so I set them aside for her. Then I bought a Leatherman type tool to use these slabs on so there will be 4 altogether. Need to figure out where I put the tool now.
Love cutting the copper ores. So many surprises when you cut them. And not all are blue and green like these. There are literally dozen of copper minerals here in Nevada including covelite and cuprite. I cabbed some of this cuprite back a while and it made some really interesting cabs as well.

The first ones are AMAZING!!! No matter what you do with them, they'll be killer. I love all the colors in the others, too. Really beautiful stuff.

I finally sent a lady back East 148 cabachons that were just lying around as a trade for wire wrapping some of the cabs to give for Christmas presents. I don't make jewelry, I cab for relaxation. So, I had box loads of cabachons just laying around. Was so nice to see them finally being enjoyed.

A place that I am working with with donations has a need for stones so that the younger women who make crafts and jewelry can use them. I've got a growing box sitting around, too.

Do they want rough stones, slabs, tumbled, cabbed?

Cabs. I think they are looking more for B grade stones to mess with, but I'll hopefully know more tomorrow.

Not surprisingly, copper wire looks AMAZING with copper complex: This one did nothing for me in your first photo, but with the 18% gray card, the colors are amazing, and I love it. I can appreciate what you mean about the copper with patina having a warm glow. The shadow makes the cab pop even more since it provides a darker silhouette that contrasts with the bright blues. This photo is quite different from your light tent setup, but not inferior, in my opinion.

Thanks, especially for your thoughts on the photo. It's a lot different than using a light tent. I'm still in the learning stage, I think.
