Nothing insanely special. But here is a cab I made a little while back from some plume agate from the Maurys. Plan to eventually set it in a ring for my girlfriend.

That is a beautiful cab.
Do you do smithing as well?

That's a beauty! It will be a show stopper in a ring.

That is a beautiful cab. Do you do smithing as well? Just getting into it. Generally I’ll buy silver ring blanks and set them that way. But decided I need to start learning how to do it on my own, as it’s virtually impossible to find blanks for custom shapes or dimensions.

I agree. I used a few store bought pieces but quickly realized the same thing. I've only made a few pieces but enjoy the freedom to do what I want opposed to making the cab fit the ready made piece.

My gf sporadically wears what I’ve made her. She’s into rocks(not as much as I am however). I honestly think she just likes the fact that I thought of her when I made it. I’ve noticed she gets more into the pieces I’ve made when people ask about them.

Nice looking cab and a good shape for a ring. I didn't know you cabbed. I'm sorry if you've posted about it and I missed it. I tend to get a little distracted by your specimen and mining photos...

I hardly cab at all. I just don’t have time. When I do have time, it’s pretty much solely focused on prospecting. I have a couple cabs I’ve posted, however they aren’t as nice as what others have posted. I still have a lot to learn.

Well, if you ever run out of rocks to prospect in Oregon (doubtful), you've certainly got the material to make cabbing fun. The secret to cabbing motivation is great material. And there's nothing more rewarding than cabbing the stuff you found or dug yourself. It's sort of like you brought it into this world and you turned it into a gem.
