Yesterday's rockhunting trip got sort of messed up but I did get there for a little while and picked up a few things -- time was short and I tried to be very selective. Most of it is Missouri Lace agate, I also grabbed some jaspers and one particularly nice looking brecciated jasper. There are several big rocks there that show banding all around -- I don't know how visible it is in the picture. Missouri Lace comes in the blue-gray variety in some locations. One of its common names is "red line" because it will always have a red line in the banding -- it should be visible in some of the photos. First photo is from one location. The next three are from the Tiff area-- the place with the weird bridges. That's been the best I've found for finding blue lace.

Ooh, I especially love the banded pieces in #3 and #4. Those should slice up nicely! The jasper looks alot like what we find around here. A nice days work Puppie!

Wow Puppie, you got some nice lace there. Love the reds in the first photo too. Looks like you made a pretty good haul today, even if you didn't have much time.
