Here's another cab I wrapped for holajonathan . I had to make sure the stone was oriented so the "onlooker" could see into the fortification pattern. If it were turned 180°, the effect would have been lost. The wire is half hard Argentium Silver...and again the twist in the wire made it super "hard" wire. EDIT: I just wanted to clarify that Jonathan made the cabochon...I did the wrap.

That is gorgeous - stone and wrap. I love the twisted brace wire on the sides. That takes complicated to a whole new level getting it right.

Another beautiful wrap! I love the stone, too. The silver goes really well with it. I'm really liking how tight your wraps are. You're well on your way to mastering this! I found argentium to be harder than sterling, too.

Nice cab and wrap! I love crazy lace. It is probably top 5 on my favorite to cab list. You did great on this one.

That is gorgeous - stone and wrap. I love the twisted brace wire on the sides. That takes complicated to a whole new level getting it right. Thanks Tommy! I learned how difficult the twist made working this wire on the pet wood wrap I did first. But, I really think it adds a level of elegance that was necessary to frame such a beautiful cab Jonathan made. Another beautiful wrap! I love the stone, too. The silver goes really well with it. I'm really liking how tight your wraps are. You're well on your way to mastering this! I found argentium to be harder than sterling, too. Thanks Tela! I wouldn't be where I am with wrapping without your guidance, confidence in me, and inspiration! So, thank you so much for your support and help! Nice cab and wrap! I love crazy lace. It is probably top 5 on my favorite to cab list. You did great on this one. Thanks Perk! I think any of the Mexican Lace is gorgeous when there's no fractures! Jonathan really did do a fantastic job on this cab!

This one is perfection. The wrap, the stone and even the amethyst used to support the wrap makes the photo superb! Kudos, Jason!

Great job to both of you!
For the wrap, that extra twist really draws my eyes away from the other wire and makes it look like the cab is not being held by anything. That was a clever trick.

This one is perfection. The wrap, the stone and even the amethyst used to support the wrap makes the photo superb! Kudos, Jason! Thanks Robin! I wanted to keep everything I could off the face of this stone. It's not too often I see a "flawless" Mexican Lace cab...so it needed to ALL be shown off! jasoninsd Thanks for fighting with the stiff twisted argentium silver to pull this one off. Silver was definitely the right choice for this cab. For anyone who is curious, I asked Jason to do fairly simple but elegant wraps. Not "simple" in degree of difficult, but simple in terms of a minimal amount of flair. In other words, I wanted him to dress up and frame my cabs without stealing the show. He delivered. The relatively unadorned designs need to be tight and precise, which Jason's wraps are. For those who like to see progression, here is the slab, the cab, and the wrap: Thanks my friend! This wire really is such a pain to work...but SO worth the effort! I really think you picked the correct wire to work these...I really do! I think this wrap really does let the stone take the leading role, leaving the wire as a supporting cast. (Pun totally intended there! LOL) I loved seeing those progress pics like this! It's totally one of those "before and after" posts! Really cool! Great job to both of you! For the wrap, that extra twist really draws my eyes away from the other wire and makes it look like the cab is not being held by anything. That was a clever trick. Thanks Brian! I see what you're seeing about the twisted wire. I'd like to take credit for the foresight on that one...but it's one of those serendipitous events...one that I need to tuck away for future "purposeful" use!
