Beautiful, Jason! Look at you go all schmantsy pantsy with that first one. Very cool and I like it a lot. My favorite is the Piranha. You totally nailed that one and the stone is killer!

Awesome gifts! I LOVE the second one and the cab is delicious. The last wrap orientation is very unusual.
Did you put a patina on those? Maybe its just the pictures, but it doesn't look right.
ETA- I'm not picking on Jason, guys. He asked me to be as critical as I can be. It's just that there isn't much to nit pit.

GPP is my favorite -- a beautiful cab and wrap. Is the Teepee Canyon your original design? If so, well done. If not, well done (for copying a cool design).

Also very cool, they're going to love them! Thanks my friend! I already ran next door and gave my mom's to her. Beautiful, Jason! Look at you go all schmantsy pantsy with that first one. Very cool and I like it a lot. My favorite is the Piranha. You totally nailed that one and the stone is killer! Thanks Robin! I really like the design on the first one, but I like the simple elegance of the Piranha...to me it is. LOL Awesome gifts! I LOVE the second one and the cab is delicious. The last wrap orientation is very unusual.

ETA- I'm not picking on Jason, guys. He asked me to be as critical as I can be. It's just that there isn't much to nit pit. Thanks Tela! Everyone seems to gravitate to that Graveyard Point Plume Agate. I had it out last weekend when the in-laws were over, and everyone kept eyeing that one. They actually did go through LOS. I wasn't sure if I had cooked them long enough...and from the sounds of it, maybe I should have let them go longer. I get confused about the LOS sometimes. I believe you let yours go black, and I've heard others say "leave them in as little or as long as necessary for the level of patina you want". I chickened out with these and pulled them when they were just getting discolored... Do you think I should leave them in until they're super dark? I almost put the caveat in the original post: "Tela's commentary and critique is ok!" LOL Bloody awesome. I'm truly impressed. Nice work. Thanks Dave! I really appreciate the compliment! Holy cow. I like 'em all. I'm sure they will, too. Thanks my friend! I haven't shown my sister hers yet. I still have a Royal Velvet Obsidian cab to wrap for her. It'll be in silver though... GPP is my favorite -- a beautiful can and wrap. Is the Teepee Canyon your original design? If so, well done. If not, well done (for copying a cool design). Thanks my friend! That Teepee Canyon wrap was the first wrap I actually sat down with pencil and paper and put my thoughts for the wrap out on paper. I have to give credit to Tela ( rockjunquie) for that. It was her writings on creativity and how to look at the stone which pushed me to do this one. I wanted the wrap to somehow mirror the fortification pattern in the cab. I thought the best way to do it was to make that extension at the bottom of the wrap, and mirror the curvature of the pattern. There was some concern that it was too long, but I had showed it to my mom before I put the patina on it and she loved it as it was.

I almost put the caveat in the original post: "Tela's commentary and critique is ok!" LOL I clean my piece with Dawn, afterwards, I put the piece in my small LOS bowl and warm it up nicely with hot water before I add the LOS to the hot water. Then, I let it get good and dark- if not black. Then comes the 0000 steel wool, followed by the brass brush and then the Sunshine cloth. Not saying you have to do it my way, but I would definitely polish those pieces. They look dull. Polishing will bring out the highlights better, too.
In my experience, you can't really overdo the LOS. You can if you use a lot of LOS, work it real hot and soak it a long time. Then the black LOS will just chip off leaving an uneven finish. But, I think that only happened to me once.

I found a soft bristle brass brush while I was at Menards today! I was stoked.

Menards is like Lowe's or Home Depot. I think it's great! The bristles are super soft, so there's no risk of damaging the wires. It's softer than a plastic bristled brush I have.

I'm sure that works for now, but I would keep looking at that one on Rio. The bristles are very compact and as you use it it becomes almost like felt.

Awesome job Jason. I like the "soft glow" of the wire. Very creative wraps. Love them.

That plume cab. You know I’m a sucker for plume. Great work all around as well.

The amount of interest that people (even the ones who aren't really into rocks) show with those Graveyard Point Plume Agates! I can see why though. They're what really started my "love affair" with plume agates!
