I am smart about some things but really dumb about electrical stuff. I have a Thumler AR-1 tumbler and I am getting an AR-2 to increase my capacity. Today I hope!
The question... Is it OK to run both of these tumblers on a single household duplex outlet? I have a home from the late 1950's and an electrician recently said the wires were generally good. I didn't ask this specific question of him.
I am only worried because they will run 24/7 and I will be away now and then.
Thanks-

I run 4 tumblers and a UV-45 on a single power strip. You should be fine. Those little motors don't pull a ton of power.

doublebluff I don't know if Rob linked his latest video, but he ran thru power consumptions of different tumblers. Maybe you'll find something useful in those 4 minutes.
I'm was a little hesistant in my apt as well, but so far I haven't burned the place down

I could not find specs on the smaller tumblers but the Model UV-45 (Stk #185) which holds about 50 # has a 115V and 1.6 amp motor. Normal home circuit is 110-120v with a 15 or 20 amp fuse or breaker. You should be way under the limit. I tend to not use power strips though for that since they are not all built to high standards. Personal choice your mileage may vary.

For continuous loads, you should not exceed 80% of the circuits rating. So for a 15A circuit, you shouldn't exceed 12A. I currently have a Lortone 33A, 33B, QT6, and Lot-o running off the same outlet and it's pulling 192W of power. This is 120v x A = 192w. A = 1.6. So all 4 of my tumblers are only drawing 1.6 amps, which is well under the 12a limit for continuous loads.

Yes, it's safe to run both tumblers. You'll be pulling 100 watts or less. A standard plug is rated at 1,800 watts. But, stay under 1,500 watts to be on the safe side. Toasters, heaters, and waffle irons pull about 1,500 watts.

Plus if you make waffles with the extra power the tumbled stones will fit in the holes and be like a display piece.
