Went into where my coffee pot is this AM. Smelled something strange and noticed my Lortone 33B was not running.
I unplugged it. The cover over motor was very hot.
Will try to take it apart on Saturday and determine the problem.
Hope to remove everything in the barrels today and clean the contents. Then put in ultrasonic cleaner.
Store the rocks in ziplock bags with water until I can figure out what happened and hopefully repair.
I had changed the belt to an O-Ring before using. Been using carbine oil on bearings about every other week. It had been running since 9-21-21, with a clean out on 10-14. Nothing done for clean outs since then.
Had to laugh about this. My Chicago Electric tumbler has been running non stop for over 1.5 years with only the oil every other month. I purchased that new in 2016.
Good thing I have wonky wiring in my house. Both my coffee pot and the Lortone were in a spare bedroom I close off in Winter. The room stays around 50 degrees when closed off.
That is the only room I can use a coffee pot in.

Well that sucks! I hope you're able to figure out what the problem was.

I had to replace the motor on my old Scott Murray Tumbler. The old one got weak and needed help getting rolling. The power went out one day and when it came back on the motor couldn't get rolling and overheated. I came home and the garage was full of smoke.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've had a 33b for almost a year no issues except a dead belt. I hope you get it back up and running without issue.
