Do you think they'd still honor the prices if you showed this to them? LOL Pretty neat to see stuff from the "archives" of history!

As I was looking at this I remembered someone gave me a color PDF of a 65 page Highland Park Lapidary Catalog from the early 1970s. Very cool to read. Lots of great detail information. I have no idea if it can be posted here but I would email it to anyone interest. If someone knows how to make it available to everyone here let me know. It is about 15MB.

This is very cool! I was actually perusing my old Lapidary Journals and Rock And Gems mags looking at the ads for all the different equipment that was available back in the day. The 60s and 70s were truly the equipment heyday for this hobby. It boggles the mind the variety of tools available and how many companies jumped into to game.

I really don't know how well Cloudinary OR Proboards would process a PDF. If you want to email it to me I can place it on the web for accessing via a link. That would be cool to have a whole directory of old lapidary machine manuals or catalogs.

This is very cool. I love the prices. Very cool Beth, thanks for sharing it. It is special to me because I have that very machine in use in my garage and it is a vital key to my super-not-so-secret final polish method.

Your PDF test did not work for me. Send me your email via PM and I will send you the PDF so all can enjoy. There is a box of old catalogs of lapidary equipment which are in great shape in our shop. As the club is 50 years old they go way back. Someone was smart and put them in envelopes so many are in like new condition. I have some others that came to me with old collection that I will try to scan in as most have some great information and specs.

There are two old HP catalogs here as well. The trim saw in the 1947 catalog is the one currently on my bench. cigarboxrock.com/old-catalogs/Beth, the B&I machines were also sold under the Sears Craftsman label, and legend has it they even offered an optional faceting mast that would fit where the saw vice arm went. I cannot imagine it was very accurate.

There is a rock club in Texas that has scanned copies of old manuals and info about various vintage equipment on its web page. Tommy is there a way to have a pinned post that contains manuals and flyers about vintage equipment? Or even newer equipment, as used equipment purchased often does not have the manual with it? Could pdf files be included? Thanks

Our club just recently put out that saw too! They refinished it and we're using it. I thought it was old, but not THAT old!

perkins17 I am not sure how many years they made that design for, it could be quite a bit newer if they stuck with that design. Mine was in pieces in a pile of stuff that was overgrown with blackberries when I got it about 12 years ago.
