I finally got some decent pics of my last batch , mixed stuff from NMrocks, Puppies, Gaetz and Sands. Even managed a couple of close ups (as decent as my camera will allow). This is the meat of the batch Some close ups This is some spider jasper I got from Sands a while back. I love the color and shapes, but it needs a different polish, I used CO. Any suggestions? Thanks for looking! cookie

Cookie, I love that Spider Jasper. I've never seen anything like that before...very crawly-looking. I'm just curious how you managed to get those plastic pellets inside the quartzy looking rock. (2nd to last pic) You are a Crazy Tumbler! Steve

Wow, that's a great looking batch of rocks!! You nailed the shine on those!
Are you sure that is spider jasper? It looks like starburst jasper to me. Looks fantastic whatever it is.

that isn't spiderman jasper in that last pic, Cookie, that is Chysthanthemum Jasper, and i think you did a great job on the shine. love the whole batch!
what is the rock in the second and third pick, sort of cream colored, but has "cells" in it, gorgeous.
wish i could get that kind of shine with CO.

KD, that's some of puppies local agate. Some of it is a little dull, but if you roll it long enough, there's some beautiful designs in it and it's actually tranparent as well. The cells are internal cracks, but they still look cool. I've got a bunch that I keep backing up, they have so much potential. I think Spider Jasper, Starburst Jasper and Crosan..corsath... chrs... ah hell , all those jaspers, are the same stone with different names. The backgroud shined up, but not the "spiders". On the really hard stones (like Gaetzs red agate) you just can't beat CO.

Cookster-
Hey, now that looks like a really fun batch there. You've got spidermen, flowers, fireworks, starburts, bubbles and ........
Anyway, you got a good shine on those and they really turned out neat. It also looks like you may have snuck some petrified wood in there. Any batch with a little petrified wood on top has gotta be fun.

I know not very many people hear do this, but I have gotten great results in combining half cerium oxide and half aluminum oxide with my mixed batches. Tami
