Here's a few photos of some rocks that I collected around the desert where I live. I'm not sure what they are, but I want to say quartzite. They're very hard, and take a good polish. I have no clue as to what those black ones are. I'm positive that they are not Apache Tears. They are just as hard as the other rocks. You can see in the pic below as to how they looked when I picked them from the desert, and after they have been polished. These are the steps I took to polish them: Vibrating Tumbler....5 days in 120-220.....4 days 400F.....4 days Cerium Oxide. Condor

Those are very nice Condor and those black ones are just cool. Do they have any transparency at all?

I'm liking those, really like the black ones. I have a couple like that, non-polished and they are way harder than anything else I have. the rocks took a very nice shine btw

Great looking stuff- I'm thinking that looks a lot like moss agate rather than quartzite- Oh and the black stuff- if it ain't obsidian- then I'm clueless (as usual)

I would not surprise me if the black ones were obsidian or Jet. Your entire batch turned out great. Tami
