I believe yes and no. It looks like what is the "new" prudent man and not the original stuff

Doesn't look like prudent man. Don't know what else it could be.

I would vote no on Prudent Man just based on a reasonable knowledge of the material history - vein #1 was the classic red/creme pattern that later trended briefly into blue. Vein#2 was the classic green/cream/white pattern. It's my understanding that the entire mine area has been restored and even planted with trees and nothing further is forthcoming. Tony catmandewe bought up the miner's personal inventory and I've sat on Tony's 'B' grade rock pile with a water bottle and never saw anything remotely resembling this piece.

The cab on the right is what I consider a classic PM pattern. The one on the right has a different pattern with different colors but does have similar plumes. I found the trim saw preform on top of my slab saw recently. I don't rockhound or go to shows. The slab that made the preform was purchased recently. I've bought typical PM from blairrock and one from tony, catmandewe in November but didn't post a picture of the preform.

I concur your piece on the right is classic Prudent Man vein #2 'Green' Classic Prudent Man vein #1 "Red" It is my understanding that at some point near the end vein #1 turned blue. The miner was selling this as vein #1 but only briefly and then it was gone. These are some examples of what I would call low grade Prudent Man - the first chunk came from Tony's "b" pile and I believe it is low grade vein #1. The plumes are almost opaque and it's full of fractures. Just not nearly up to the quality of classic red. The reason I'm showing this group is in my experience I have not seen Prudent Man that degraded into anything resembling your mystery preform with oranges etc. It's a good looking rock but I don't think it's PM

I don't think it is either, but it a mystery since It showed up recently, not from my small rock pile. The marked area is clear.

It kind of reminds me of bird of paradise agate but without the characteristic long plumes...

Looks like Challis agate to me, also sold as Southern Idaho agate by some other miners.

I did some more research on my purchases and I know where I got it. I buy inexpensive slabs from blairrock. They have some material that is difficult for me to find like Tahoma. Shipping is flat rate so I look for stuff that I might be able to use where I like the pattern. I paid $5.50 for the slab as part of an order in December and made two preforms. It was identified as crazy lace but a lot of their descriptions are inaccurate.
