Wow, WTG on the shine there. That obsidian is beautiful. Can't wait to get mine done. Two more days and it should be ready to move into 120/200. Hope mine turns out as good as yours. Awesome markings on the tiger eye, you outdid yourself.

Liking that obsidian and the tiger eye rules - did you pre-cut the tiger eye?

Well done indeed, Dawg!
I really like the mixed colours in that obsidian... what's the name of that variety?
Those amethysts are small but they sure more than make up for that with their clarity and colour! I've tumbled a lot of larger amethyst, but it's always riddled with fractures, not water-clear like yours. Ace job!

Now I'm all excited about the obsidian that I started to pre-shape the other night, it's going in the tumbler after my next batch!

~Mark!~ We REALLY need a "drooling" emoticon on the board here! All these rock pics & no way to express our salivatory reactions accurately...

i am totally in love with your tiger eye, great job. of course i am a big fan of tiger eye. But am having a lot of trouble acquiring some. i keep getting outbid on ebay for sdome, and there is no rock shop around here to buy some from. does anyone have extra that might be able to sell me some?

The obsidian is called mahogany, and I got it off ebay. I had to re-run it back through all the stages from 120 because even with pellets all the edges turned white-ish. The amethyst came with the used qt-66 I got from ebay. There was 2 lbs of it and it was all small, it took me almost 3 months to get it done. We were thinking about sewing up some small velvet pouches and putting a small handfull of them in each pouch, it is said it's good to prevent drunkenness, and a cure for insomnia, so you could put it under your pillow to help you sleep. The tigereye I got off ebay, I precut them. The tigereye seemed to eat up my blade pretty fast, faster than jasper or some agates.

WTG dog! Outstanding- Loved the tiger eye- Im gearing up to do a run with some (unless I get a few good slabs!) It is one of those stones that just starts playing on your mind- over and over- until you just gotta run it!
