It's just that great minds get dirty in the same gravel dump. Earthdog, just yesterday I made my candle thingie too! I already had some fountain thingies but not as cool as your multi-level one. So here is my candle thingie with display of Missouri Lace Agate: Well this weekend's collecting got me thinking about the home grown stuff I've been ignoring and hey, I'd forgotten how really cool it is. So while I'm doing this here are views of 2 other arrangements of MO lace that I put together (but without a candle!) Thanks for looking!

I can't believe the colors that stuff comes in, I love the way you set it up with the candles. That's a great idea. Has anyone ever slabbed any of the Missouri Lace? Kim, dig your's up and get it cut, want to see it slabbed.

The candle thingie was being sold at Bed, Bath & Beyond in the section with candles and table top fountains. It's a glass thing on the metal frame with legs that comes with the candles, and HA! I had much much fatter candles given to me for Christmas last year. The whole set comes with a sackful of rocks that I haven't even bothered to open up. No the rocks aren't glued down and I put them in the depression where the candles are and up on the lip of the glass thing too. Yes a good hard bump would knock them off. Not toddler or long-tailed-dog proof, for sure.

Those are soooo great! I think it's best to not glue rocks down unless it's absolutely necessary. I don't know about you guys, but I like to pick 'em up, feel the smoothness, re-arrange 'em, you know - play around with 'em. Sorta like a stress reliever thing....
