Untitled by paul forsythe, on Flickr The bull wheel and Art Resin are giving the best results so far....no polish, all diamonds to 1000 then hand sand to 5k. lots of work...but the end result is worth it. Click on the pic,its a video. i asked Timothy Leary? and he couldn't help me either.

Beautiful! Happy to hear that the Art Resin is working. I've used it just once with apparent success, and I have several slabs waiting that can't proceed without it.

Very nice results! Morgan Hill and other poppy jasper types make it well worth the extra effort if they come out that well. I can see a use for it for filling pits in many types of plume and moss agate too.

That is amazing, Paul, and not just because you managed to pull off that shine with a tricky material. I still plan to hit you up for specific advice as soon as I get my stuff set up. I've purposely left the boxes in my living room so I have to walk over them every day. I was hoping that would motivate me to get going with the new project, but then life (and cabbing) gets in the way.

Great results. I think I'll be trying that on some material I have. I clicked on the video and then ended up going through the Flikr gallery you have there. Wow! What an amazing group of cabs. Beautiful material and workmanship. They are just spectacular. I bookmarked and will definitely go back and check them out more.

That looks very nice, but, will you tell us newbies the exact sequence of your treatment. As an example, I've tried using art resin before the polishing and after the polishing. I have to say that I'm not having any success. My usual procedure for finishing is to tumble my stone in 220 grit, then 600 grit and then 1000 grit. I always seem to have small pit's or visible cracks. On some stones that I can see the problems right from the start, I have, on some, applied the art resin then and then proceeded to my polishing sequence as above. Didn't work well! Then I tried finishing all the way and then applying the art resin and letting it almost dry completely and then wiped with some acetone on a rag. Didn't work too well either. So, can someone tell me, and others that are new to this art resin fix, just what exactly is the correct procedure and all the steps needed to accomplish a nice finish with no holes or cracks.
I appreciate any and all help,
Jim
