I basically spent my stimulus checks creating a tumbling workshop in an unused corner of my basement. From left to right, I have my grit storage and ceramic media bucket, a Rock Rascal 6" Gem Maker (that I'm a little afraid to use for fear of accidentally destroying it), a Lortone 33B I use for everything except the coarse-grind stage, a Thumler Model B for larger-batch coarse grinding (thanks again, gatorflash1 ), a digital microscope for close inspections, dop pot (still unused), Dremel drill press for turning finished stones into pendants, and my polishes. A better view of my grit storage. Each grade has it's own drawer and is kept in a glass jar with a dedicated 1 tablespoon scoop. I have them stacked with the coarsest on the bottom to minimize cross-contamination. Under the table I have my rock boxes. The gray-lidded ones are sized, sorted, and ready to tumble, while the others hold the stones I need to break up first. The big tote is for shop rags and rarely-used equipment. And, of course, I can't forget my supervisor, Starla. Not pictured, I have a cabinet to the right of everything with my tumbling guides and regularly-used odds and ends (scales, oil for the tumblers, mineral I.D. kit, etc.). The other side of the room features a dual-basin slop sink with one side draining into a 5-gallon bucket for winter rinses. What do you think?

I think your setup is wayyyy ahead of the curve and you have the luxury of a basement. I'm ignoring the spiderweb of cords, nothing to see there
Can't wait to see some finished product.

I think I'd rate it a 10! I like everything about it...except the fact you're leaving your Rock Rascal 6" Gem Maker untouched! Don't be skeered of it!

I'll give you at least a nine out of ten! You're setup looks great! Don't be scared of the rock rascal! I'll bet you love it once you get it running. The only thing missing is a cot in the corner for those all-nighter cabbing/cutting/tumbling days.

The only thing missing is a cot in the corner for those all-nighter cabbing/cutting/tumbling days. I've used it exactly once, cutting some jaspers down to tumbling size. By the end of it the spray had started to swell the board under the Rock Rascal (you can sort of see it in the 2nd picture), which weirded me out more than a little. It would take a lot of saving up to replace it if I accidentally destroy it.

Lots of people remount their equipment on scrap countertop material or what have you.
