I have been using my 3A for jewelry and jewelry alone. I have been noticing minuscule pieces of black rubber in the mix. Turns out the rubber bottom gasket of the lid is breaking down. I have been using it for about 20 years. I assume I can get replacement parts for Rock shed. Is this normal? I use stainless steel jewelers shot, plastic pellets and dawn.

Sounds like dry rot. Replacements are readily available.

Do you have pictures at all? My gasket is seriously worn down after a ton of coarse 60/90 tumbling grit. 20 years is a long time, so I don't doubt that it's normal.

Mine doesn't have any features after less than a year of coarse runs.
