Hello all! This is my first post here, so please forgive me if I break a rule. I am also very new to tumbling and have only had a single "decent" run, though I am getting better.
I own a National Geographic tumbler and a Leegol "Professional" Dual Drum tumbler. I have had both running almost nonstop for the better part of 4 months.
That said, i come to you for some help with my Leegol. Based on everyone's comments, I have been lucky just having it run this long without real mechanical issues. I have been babying the thing with weekly oil and running well under the 6lb weight that the barrels suggest the machine can do. I just recent had to replace the first belt which required me going to an etsy store to find a replacement.
In the 4 months I have been running the leegol, I have watched as it eats the barrel knobs and clogs itself with the plastic shavings from the knobs. When I try to use the plastic spacers, i get a lovely whining noise as the metal and plastic rub each other. We are at the point where the motor & spinning bars are louder than the rocks getting tumbled inside.
My plan is to eventually replace this with a Lortone 33b but they have been sold out for quite a while. In the meantime, I can throw a little time and money at this Leegol problem if it means getting a better experience running it.
Does anyone have any suggestions for modifications that I can make to solve any of the following: 1. The noise that the bars as they spin? (this looks like it might also be solved if I can stop the plastic shavings from the knob getting gunky on the bar)
2. A solution so that the knobs stop touching the metal over the motor (which would also help reduce noise, and all the plastic shavings)
Thanks for any advice!

I have no advice for the Leegol however, put in a search on eBay for the tumbler you want and save it. Anytime one gets posted you'll get a notice. Seeing quite a bit hitting ebay recently.

Welcome to the forum.
Have you greased the ends of the rods where they go in to the bushings?
I have taken the metal off the ends where the barrel nuts go it to and instead glued thick felt pads to the inside edges of the frame so the barrel rubs against the felt instead of the barrel nuts being shaved away by the metal support.

Welcome from California. Based on your Leegol description, I’d consider charging every one a nickel to come and observe first hand.
Good luck. Not a tumbler.

I love the idea of the felt pads and will be trying that out today. Thank you!

jayjimenezWelcome from North Idaho. Sorry about the trouble with the Leegol. Kingsley North’s website will allow you to sign up for a “back in stock” notification. I’ve purchased a couple tumblers that way recently. I was notified pretty quick after signing up. Good luck. I’m looking forward to seeing some photos of your work.

Just wanted to provide a quick update: The felt pads seem to be doing the job! There are creating some cuts in the metal lid, but I figure I can find some softer pads.
