1. Opal Petrified Wood — 37 x 27 mm Here's one angry Bigfoot with an arm raised overhead — run now while you still can!
2. Opal Petrified Wood — 34 x 26 mm There's two of them — and this one's in a rage with arm raised, too!
3. Cathedral Agate — 24 x 19 mm The last of my Cathedral, or so I thought. Then I scored some small slabs on eBay last week. This high domer should go into a ring.
4. Cactus Agate — 37 x 29 mm For years I just couldn't throw out the last piece of a slab, but couldn't figure out how to cut it. Until now. It turned out OK, but not great.
5. Star Carnelian Quartz — 32 x 23 mm I was attracted to the clear quartz radiating out from the carnelian area.
6. Wild Horse Magnesite — 38 x 20 mm This was the edge of a small slab and I just couldn't add parts of it to adjacent cabs. Prettiest pattern that I've seen in Wild Horse.
7. Laguna Lace Agate — 28 x 27 mm Glad this survived. I lost a companion to this one when a couple of lace stripes fell apart while cutting.
8. Zebra Bloodstone — 36 x 25 mm Prior to cutting the white area resembled a lightning bolt, but it transformed into a strange, distorted, partial face or skull (to my eyes).
Then, when posting its "point up" photo on its Etsy listing, I suddenly saw a white cat at the bottom sitting in the sunlight coming through a slight opening in curtains. It would have been a good entry for the cat cab contest...

Gary, that's a great batch of cabs! I seriously enjoy reading about what you see in the patterns! When describe what you're seeing, I can see it too. That sunlit cat is really awesome! I've got a batch of Laguna Lace that is doing that same "separation" between the bands...it really sucks! I don't have a favorite per se...I like them all...but to me that Wild Horse Magnesite is a tad sweeter than the rest.

Beautiful cabs, Gary! I love the Carnelian Quartz. It looks like an egg with a broken yoke. Sunny side up, please!

I'm also thinking that I'll choose to do more "hexagonal shield" shapes like that. I like the look and am always trying to steer clear of so many ovals and ovoids.
I tossed the Laguna with the piece that fell away, but I may go waste basket diving to retrieve it. I'm thinking that a little epoxy ...

Thanks, Robin! And thank you for that imagery, too. I'm going to edit my listing and include it.

Those are beautiful, Gary! The carnelian looks like part of a daisy to me and I love how you framed the quartz and carnelian in that one. The cathedral agate is my favorite of the bunch though. That one immediately reminded me of a barreleye fish although your cab is far more beautiful than that unusual critter.
