Today was daylights savings day, when we lose an hour of our weekend. (Didn't we vote against this? ??) The upside of this is the extra daylight hours. It was bright when I started cabbing, and bright when I quit. Anyway, here are the cabs. Interesting agate for ID: IMG_20220313_190438921 by Perkins17, on Flickr Polish_20220313_190728393 by Perkins17, on Flickr And... #2! This is a nice piece of sodalite I picked up fro 50 cents in San Diego while on vacation. it freeformed this, so I would appreciate some opinions on it. Dang Perk! I think that second picture is your best picture of a cab yet! They both took an amazing polish! I'm not known form my preforms...but I think that preform looks really good!

I'm trying to work on my photography. I need to rework the sodalite cab though. I found some scratches near the base I'll get out on the 325.

Looking good! Love the shape on the sodalite. I think it looks great! Thank you! Freeforms are fun. I learned that I like pointy shapes yesterday!

Here in AZ we are having none of that nonsense. We have enough daylight, don't need to be saving it, and we also know how to get up earlier in the summer if we want more. To celebrate not changing the clocks I set up a carving station, made a space for the Sesona grinder, cleaned up the shop space, and worked on my contest cab, in addition to cleaning things up in the saw shop and helping with some tree planting. Today I get to bore some perk holes in possible locations for more trees and dig out around the edge of a slam to underpin it for a cover and frame to support an overhead crane and a swing out door/shade for the shop extension.

Must be nice! I would love to celebrate that! This month's contest cab would be nice to work on a flat lap. I worked mine on 8 inch and 4 inch wheels. Tree planting sounds interesting. It's still a little too cold up here for that.

Nice work. What is the background? Thank you! The background is a very special slab from the virgin river valley found by one of the workers on the original highway there, who happened to be a lapidary artist. It was gifted to one of my friends at the Spokane Rock rollers who gifted it to me a while back, when I got the pixie from him.
