What could cause my motor mounts to break (x3) on my UV-10? I get it, the first time I had too much material. Now though, it's getting annoying and I would buy a new one except:
1- there are no new ones for sale.
2- not ready to accept defeat.

Hello JR8675309, HA, love your screen name. Are you talking about the two Z kind of shaped brackets? I can't see how they would ever break. Where do they break, in the middle or where they are bolted on the motor or frame?

They break in the bend of the Z. First both broke, replaced. Then one broke. Replaced. Then one broke again. Listening yet again this morning, the motor sounds as though it's under strain and then recovering... now I'm not sure if that's related to the missing mount and not having that balance. Your ideas are most welcome! |
