Polish in cracks fixed MAYBE

Hi all
I posted about polish in minute cracks. I applied some simple science to the rocks, it may have been a fluke so I will try again. Rocks going into Pre polish I put them in ice water before tumbling (close the cracks). Because I have 4 barrels the pre polish moving to polish I also did ths ice water thing. Last night when the polished stones came out of polish I rinsed them in hot water and tumbled them with borax in hot water. 5 hours later they came out with NO polish in minute cracks. Again I have only done 1 batch into pre polish and one batch in and out of polish this way. I will try it again with the pre polish batch going into polish. 🤞 Also going to try ingawh tip of making a gel out of the water. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Was it a fluke? I know rocks are hard and shouldn't be effected by heat and cold but it definitely is worth trying
