Picked up a couple Lortone NS8 arbors with no motors. What size would the pros recommend? I'm trying to stay in the 1500 rpm range but not sure what size motor would be best.
Also, any recommendations for expando wheels? Was looking at Kingsley for the wheels and belts. Thinking 6" x 1 1/2" wheels to start but dunno which brand to get. Looking for best bang for the buck.
Nothing worse than throwing money at a project if the money ain't well spent.

Standard 1/3 HP 1725 RPM capacitor-start motors. Use your pulley diameters to come up with your arbor shaft RPM.
Wheels would depend on what equipment you might already have.

I don't remember the brand name of my expando drum but I highly recommend them. DO NOT get the Lortone brand exact-span wheels. You have to take them off to change belts. Good expanding drums take a while to get used to if you've only used 6 wheel arbors (such as a genie), but they work great once you get used to them. I used mine and/or wooden spools for all of my cabs, and I get pretty good results. A 1/3 horse power motor works great for my arbor too. Nice score on some new machines! I hope they work great for you.

I know nothing about expandos or belts. As far as wheels are concerned, I can recommend johnsonbrothers for soft. jadecarver and the lithuanian for hard. I bought a soft lithuanian wheel but haven't mounted it. www.etsy.com/shop/RoundAndDurable?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=573455335Highland Park is selling wheels, but their soft are 2 inches wide for 6 and 8 inch diameter. I'm mainly using my Genie for everything except sanding (600,1200 soft) and don't want to deal with the wider 6 inch otherwise I would try one. I have no experience with sintered. I replace my plated wheels when they slow down.

brybry - If you have 8" arbors, you'd be doing yourself a huge favor by getting 8" wheels and a 3" x 8" expando.
The extra width is a huge advantage for large cabs and slabs. Silicon Crabide belts are inexpensive, too, and many old-school guys would use a well-worn 600 grit belt to finish cabs. I know I've seen threads by one well respected lapidary (he contributed a lot to the Agate-Jasper Database) detailing his methods.
We have one arbor here with 60 grit and 80 grit plated wheels. A second arbor has a 220 grit plated wheel and a 3" x 8" expando. Can do things with those arbors we can't do with the 1-1/2" x 6" wheels on the Genies.
You might do well to set one arbor up with 80 and 220 plated wheels, and the other with a 280 soft (for longevity) and an expando with SC belts.
I'm not saying "go big or go home" - it's more like "go big or go back later to buy more stuff...".

That's what I was looking for on the wheels, thank you!
