Pretty cabs. I would never know that the last 3 were Rocky Butte if you hadn't said so.

Pretty cabs. I would never know that the last 3 were Rocky Butte if you hadn't said so. Thanks Robin! I sure hope I didn't put something in the wrong bag and have it mislabeled! LOL Kidding. I'm positive they're Rocky Butte...well...as positive as "I" can be! LOL Like them all, nice work brother. Thanks my friend! I love the polish this material takes! It is prone to fractures...but if you can get around them, it really is pretty material. Niiice! I think I like the last one best. I love the speckled blue. Thanks Tela! That last one started out as a high dome because of the thick slab that "someone" cut. I didn't like the look of the cab with the high dome, so I kept grinding it down and those blue "speckles" really started coming out. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! LOL

Those are some beauties jasoninsd! That last one looks just like a preform I was calling "porcelain jasper" that I attacked with club wheels when they got them new. That is some hard stuff!

Thanks Perk! I can count on one hand the amount of times I've lost a cab off the dop since I got my new machine...in fact probably only on a couple fingers. That last cab though...it was SO hard, I was putting way too much pressure on it to grind it on the 80 grit the other day, that I popped it right off the dop! Had to reglue it and wait another two days to finish it! LOL

I need to borrow some patience. I popped the dop off on mine too! That might partially been due to the new un-broken-in chippy wheels though. I use locktite gel-bond super glue to drop, and it takes like 15 minutes to dry so I don't care too much if one falls off.

Once I get the dops set on the glue, I pour baking soda over the glue, then leave them for 4-6 hours. The baking soda sets them faster than the 4-6 hours that I wait, but I don't like chancing them popping off...and it's a lot faster than the old 48 hours I used to wait. LOL

LOL You can get a spray on accelerator. All it takes is a squirt and it doesn't make a mess. A little bottle goes a long ways.

Thanks Tela! I looked into that. It's just cheaper to raid my wife's kitchen material...once again.
