Here's another batch of Iraqi rocks.
These ran for:
These ran for:
- 6 Weeks - 80 Silicone Carbide
- 5 days - 120/220 Silicone Carbide
- 5 days - 600F Silicone Carbide + Filler
- 5 days - Tripoli + Filler
- 5 days - Aluminum Oxide Polish + Filler
I also burnished with Borax between each stage.

Before they went in the barrel.
I chose mainly brown-ish covered rocks for this batch because in the past I have found them to be the most exciting out of all the rocks Daniel brings home. I always look forward to a surprise of some sort under that brown coating.
Rocks are Dry (wet or dry, the rocks pretty much look the same)

6 weeks of 80
I added more rocks to the batch either to replace those I pulled out because I was happy with the shape, or just to bring the level back up in the barrel as the rocks wore down. Most of the rocks that I added looked just like the rocks above.
I didn't bother putting the rocks back in the same order as in the picture above (like I've done in my past posts) because with some, it's very hard to tell which rocks are which, especially with adding more brown covered rocks to the batch. More then half of them don't even look anything like what they started off as.
Like most of my batches, not all the rocks fit in the picture. So there will be more rocks pictured at the end.
Sorry about the picture quality. My camera just didn't want to take clear pictures that day.
Rocks are somewhat wet (they dried up fairly quickly).

5 days of 120/220
Rocks are wet, but starting to dry out.

5 days of 600F
Rocks are wet, but starting to dry out.

5 days of Tripoli
Rocks are Dry

3 days of Polish
These rocks were pulled out of polish at 3 days (includes rocks which didn't make it into the before and during pictures).
These all have a glass shine. They're just so white that it's hard to tell from the pictures.
Some others which were ready after 3 days

5 days of polish
These ones weren't quite ready after 3 days of polish, so I let them roll for a couple more days.
The 3 rocks down at the bottom left, didn't take much of a shine.

Close-up's
Before & After - Close-up's / flip sides.
And now some more close-up's (enough pictures for you? )
