that is beautiful work, Ron, love the handle! the grain is pleasing to the eye. are there special parameters that make a Shillelagh a Shillelagh as opposed to a plain cane? i mean, do you have to sing Irish songs when you are making it..? (kidding).

Thanks KD. A Shillelagh is really not a cane, it's a walking stick that is meant to be used as a defensive weapon. That's the reason for the hefty handle.

Wow, that is so cool! Now can that be used as a "cane" or is it more for decoration? Beautiful work Ron what's written above the date, can't quite make it out?

Hey Cher, that's my own little "DaVinci Code" that I include on all my work.

I was just trying to be friendly. But seeing how u r going to be a smart aleck about it, I am going to be one right now. a shillelagh is a walking stick like u said with a large head. not only is it good for a weapon, but it aids in walking also. A cane had a large head, aidsd in walking, and can also be used as a weapon. the only difference is the name. I am sorry that I ogffended you, but u had no right to verbally attack me on it. the difference between teh two is just thename. both has the same functions. I am not sure if i want to belong here anymore. I have trouble getting questions answered, and have been smart alecked to more than once. GOOD-BYE.
